BiomaxID MID-E16X is a 16-floor elevator expansion board that adds floor restriction capabilities to an existing elevator control system. It features a single RS485 interface for upstream connection — compatible with the MID-E16 master controller or directly with a BiomaxID face recognition terminal running elevator firmware.
When connected to a BiomaxID face terminal with elevator function, the face terminal operates as a self-contained elevator controller — authenticating users via the face terminal and activating the corresponding floor relay — eliminating the need for a separate master controller. When connected to the MID-E16 master controller, it extends the system to cover additional floors beyond the master's 16-floor capacity.
Each MID-E16X provides 16 relay outputs, controlling 16 individual floors. For buildings requiring more than 16 floors, multiple expansion boards can be connected to the master controller via RS485 distribution. The board accepts per-user floor authorization from the connected device, and once verified, triggers direct access to the authorized floor without any button press inside the elevator car.
